About Us
Our Community
Our faith community welcomes people who are mature adults, young adults, children and teens, conventional and non-conventional families, with or without children, those with or without a spouse. We welcome those who have significant others and those who do not. We don’t care if you have money or don’t. If you are a ‘churched’ person, or not.
Wonder About Religion
Do you have problems? Don’t we all! Or maybe you are a perfectly adjusted person who wonders: “What’s next?”
If you wonder about religion… Is it out of touch? Is it passé? Does it matter? Maybe not! But what DOES matter is that our God loves us and that we return that love to God and others, through worship, study and the way we treat each other. We are relevant!
KISS
KISS (Keep it Simple Sewers) is a not for profit quilting Guild. We meet monthly at a regular meeting where we often have guest speakers. During the year we also offer classes taught by our members as well as other small group activities. We have provided over 1500 masks during the beginning of Covid to Children’s Hospital and Canton Hospital, over 1000 Quilts of Valor were made and delivered to our Veterans. Sheets are made for the Barberton Pregnancy Center. Several of our quilters have donated quilts to be given to Foster Kids attending a summer camp. Recently we provided many quilts for Ukrainian Families who have relocated to the United States.
Kiwanis
Our congregation is not perfect. We get mad, scared, say stupid things, and sometimes do not act like Christians. But don’t judge us. Join us in our imperfections as we work on ourselves. Jesus came to heal the sick. And we are all in need of Jesus’ healing love and care.
We are a small faith community where you will NOT get lost. We will know your name and the names of your family members. We will eat with you, sing with you (we don’t care if you sing well or in a monotone), laugh and worship with you. Have an idea, tell us!

CUMC Quilt Patchers
CUMC Quilt Patchers meet weekly to hand quilt on a classic frame. We have quilted new as well as much loved quilt tops. One such top was found in the belonging of an aunt who passed away. Her niece knew that her mom had worked on the piecing and wanted the quilt to be finished. We were able to do that for her. The money we have made doing this quilting is donated to the church or to the Copley outreach center.
