Copley Outreach Center
Copley Outreach Center began with our members in _____. It has grown and is now under the management of Maryann — and is also supported by ____ church. Our church supports the center with funds and donations. We believe in the importance of caring for our neighbors.
Our Missions
Amazing Grace
This group is the brain child of Roseann Wagner. She has gained the support of many women in the congregation. The mission is to involve women in outreach projects, learning opportunities, community interactions, and fellowship, all ecumenically.
Examples of monthly meetings include:
- Understanding Ukraine and offering a helping hand
- Pottery Painting
- Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Mission
- High Tea, Poetry and Book reading
- Strawberry Event
Our Missions
Community Involvement
- Kiwanis Flower Sale & lunch. In our church parking lot both spring and fall.
- Local Habitat for Humanity. We supply lunch to the building crews several times a year.
- Boy Scout (Troop#?)
- AA, Al Anon, and Alateen.
- KISS QUILT GUILD is a not-for-profit group of quilters who meet monthly to support other quilters, including those learning the skill. We have provided over 1500 masks during the beginning of Covid to Children’s Hospital and Canton Hospital, Over 1000 Quilts of Valor were made and delivered to our Veterans, sheets are made for the Barberton Pregnancy Center, and recently we provided many quilts to Ukrainian Families who have come to the United States.
- CUMC Quilt Patchers meet weekly to hand quilt on a classic frame. We have quilted new quilts and loved quilt tops, one that was recently quilted was found in grandmas stash. The money we have made doing this quilting is donated to the church or to the Copley outreach center.
- Music in the Circle – supplying delicious ice cream treats
- Ever since 2003 when the U.S. went to war, Copley Church has been sending Care Packages to soldiers serving overseas in Iraq & Afghanistan as long as they are stationed there.

Local
Outreach Center (show news article pic. I sent you) is a privately funded volunteer driven Center to reach out to the Community to assist families with basic needs such as food. Copley Church and Guardian Angels Church along with local businesses are helping with the food pantry and providing healthy snacks for children while they are out of school for the Summer. When the children are in school they are provided with snacks in their backpacks.
Our Missions
Free Store
Copley Church has a Free Store open on the 1st Friday of each month from 10:00am-2:00pm for persons who may need clothing or household items. We are in need of gently used clothing for children.
Cleveland Clinic/Akron General Hospice on Ridgewood in Copley continuously receives individually wrapped snacks for families who have a loved one in their care.
Our Missions
SOS-Valor Home
SOS-Valor Home in Akron is the only male facility in Summit County providing emergency shelter for 30 homeless Vets and supportive programs. As the Vets come and go Copley Church provides them with their own set of towels. We gave 8 sets of towels in in May & will be delivering to Valor Home 8 more sets of towels this month. Valor Home recently requested pillows which we need to purchase and deliver.

Habitat for Humanity
Copley Church has been working with HFH of Summit County to provide lunches for the volunteer workers. HFH is building 16 homes in Silver Maple Ridge Development in Akron. They just began a home in June for Donnie and Cierra and their 3 children. We provided a lunch in June for the workers and will deliver 2 more lunches during the build schedule.

Helping Soldiers SOS
Since 2003 when we entered the war in Iraq we have sent soldiers serving there and in Afghanistan Care Packages as long as they are serving overseas.
Battered Womens Shelter
Battered Womens Shelter provides emergency shelter for women and their children. Copley Church has purchased needed pajamas and toiletry items.
Our Missions
Holiday Giving
In November we help the Outreach Center by collecting monetary donations toward Acme, Aldi & Giant Eagle gift cards for the families toward Thanksgiving meals.
In November, Open M Ministry in Akron requests 200 boxes of an item for their Christmas meal.
In December a “Christmas tree” is put up to be decorated with scarves, hats, mittens and gloves for the children at Harvest Home, shelter for women & children in Akron.
In December, we help with Samaritans Purse, a Global mission, to provide shoeboxes filled with Christmas toys & small personal items for children anywhere in the world.
Our Missions
Valor Home Vets receive a New Years Eve. box filled with summer sausage, a variety of cheeses, cookies, crackers & nuts to celebrate the Holiday.
Haven of Rest, provides a shelter for the homeless men in Akron. In Dec. they have a need for warm socks which we collect in box for them & those living on the streets.
Right now we are providing lunches for HFH, nonperishable food, bar soap & toothpaste for the Outreach Center and sets of towels for Valor Home Vets.
Harvest Home Womens’ Shelter in Akron to collect mittens, scarves and hats for women ad children.
Donate special snacks to celebrate the New Year to Vets at Valor Home.
Provide pajamas for the women and children and collect needed toiletry items for Battered Women’s Shelter.
Throughout the year we provide snacks for families with loved ones who are ill on the third Thursday of the month for Hospice on Ridgewood in Copley.

June, July and Aug.: Copley Outreach Center, with Copley Church’s help, provides food items and snacks for children in need on Summer Break.
Aug. until completion: Habitat For Humanity builds a home with a family’s help. Copley church provides 3 lunches for the Volunteers.
October: Copley Outreach Center collects monetary donations toward gift cards-Acme, Aldi and Giant Eagle for Thanksgiving.
November: OPEN M is a Christian nonprofit organization in South Akron that provides food, health and employment services to those in poverty. Copley Church collects 200 box cake mixes toward Christmas meals.
December: Harvest Home provides shelter for homeless women and children in Akron, Copley church collects mittens, scarves and hats for the children.
December 31st: Valor Home Vets receive special snacks to celebrate the New Year.
Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospice on Ridgewood in Copley: throughout the year receive packaged snacks for the families with loved ones who are ill.
